Good evening lovely!
Do you ever have those nights when you get home really late, have to wake up extremely early the morning after and simply feel like you don’t have the time or the energy to go about your normal cleansing routine?
Because I most definitely do!
So here is as follows, my own personal favourite products for those nights and how to make cleaning your face as easy as possible.
Step one is to remove your makeup.
Now, depending on how much makeup you wear on a regular basis you might naturally have to find what products work best for you. Me personally, I wear a lot of makeup and need a makeup remover that’ll take off everything from liquid lipsticks to lash glue. These are the products I’ve found work really well for me.
Nivea Double Effect Eye Make-up Remover – This is hands down the best makeup remover I have ever used. It will remove absolutely all trace of makeup ever having touched your face. It’s a two-face formula, one is oil-based and the other one water-based, so make sure you shake it well before using. After shaking the bottle, wet a cotton pad with the remover and lightly clean your face with the cotton pad. For makeup products that are a bit tougher to remove, such as lash glue, gently press the soaked cotton pad on the area before rubbing it gently.
Lyko Makeup Remover Wipes – After using the aforementioned product, I often feel there is some oil residue left on my face. I don’t like the feeling at all, so I usually take a makeup remover wipe and gently wipe off any oil still left on my face. These ones are the best ones I’ve tried so far. I have really sensitive skin around my eyes, especially when it comes to makeup removers, and these makeup remover wipes are the only ones that doesn’t make my skin irritated and red. If you’re able to get a hold of them, definitively give them a try!
Now when our face is free from makeup, you want to make sure to properly cleanse your skin to prep it for any products you might use afterwards.
I’ve always liked using some kind of sponge or brush in combination with my cleanser to properly buff it into my skin while at the same time exfoliating it gently.
Sephora Collection Face Konjac Cleansing Sponge – Now I have mentioned this product in a previous post, so if you would like more of a first impression review please follow this link. I’ve used it a couple times more after that post and I will continue using it unil I can find something I could possibly like more. It’s a great way to apply and really buff in your cleanser. I love using it when I’m in the shower and really just massage my face with it while cleansing. I’ve noticed my skin has become a lot smoother, likely due to the gentle exfoliation, All in all, it’s a wonderful product that’s worth a try if you want to upgrade your cleansing routine!
Face Rosa Centifolia Express Makeup Remover – This is a really creamy, gentle cleanser with a lot of moisturizing qualities. The thing that makes this cleanser really special in my opinion is that it contains so many nourishing ingredients for your skin that you don’t actually have to rinse it off. The downside is that it is dubbed a makeup remover and for me it doesn’t quite live up to the promises when it comes to that. Great as a facial cleanser, not so much for removing makeup unless you keep it really really natural. What I love about it though is that it doesn’t irritate my skin in any way and it leaves my skin feeling supple and refreshed even before using a regular moisturizer.
And there we have it: My nighttime cleansing routine for nights when minutes matter!
It may seem like a lot of steps but it shouldn’t take more than three minutes or so and your face will be clean, nourished and ready for action the next mornigng. You can of course adapt this routine to whatever suits you. And if you have any quick cleansing tips to share, feel free to share them in a comment below, I would love to hear it!
